[edit]

Shots of planes coming in to London Airport low over roof-tops and cameraman, and not a tank or soldier in sight: it was thus that ITN, in a nicely-understated news item, cast some doubts on the strange goings-on at Heathrow last week. But it was not until Dr Who (BBC 1) set out on his latest adventure in a London paralysed by an invasion of pterodactyls and other prehistoric monsters that it became clear that fact and fiction had merged; or, as a secretary who works in the occupied territory of West Drayton remarked: 'It was like being in a film.'
