It's here — the moment some fans of Dr Who (BBC1, 7.35pm) perhaps thought they might never see.
In the last few years the show's future has wobbled more than once or twice, but Sylvester McCoy seems to have settled down as the latest (and seventh) time traveller just in time for this latest three-part story to mark the show's Silver Jubilee.
For 25 years the mysterious Time Lord has been shuttling through time and space, sorting out galactic problems and vanquishing monsters, to the immense delight of his fans in 65 countries around the world.
William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee. Tom Baker, Peter Davison and Colin Baker have all played the role, but the Doctor's television survival is as remarkable as the two-hearted Doctor himself.
With a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit and immense longevity he roams through space and time in a personalised ship, the Tardis (time and relative dimension in space).
The latest adventure is called Silver Nemesis. A meteor crashed to Earth containing a statue that was fired into space 350 years earlier.
The Doctor and his assistant Ace, must fight enemies from both 1638 and 1988 and overcome the Cybermen to gain control of the Silver Nemesis.
I bet the Cybermen won't be singing Happy Birthday
Caption: "We're sorted out those dastardly Meeks — bring on the sinful Cybermen," say Dr Who, and faithful assistant Ace.
