So the 'Dr Who Daleks' on Clondalkin's New Road have been exterminated. Big deal. About time.
I believe the Council bigwigs descended upon Clondalkin in recent weeks - took one look - and deemed they had to go.
Isn't that what the people of Clondalkin have been saying since the pathetic pieces were first constructed?
Could those same Council chiefs not have seen the plans BEFORE they went up. No., too sensible.
We have an equally embarassing eyesore outside the Mill Centre. Another which should have never seen the light of day (or the pitch dark of night. for that matter). Two towers went up on this occasion. They then realised that one was an obstruction to pedestrians. Tore one down, rebuilt a smaller version, and put it standing oppo site the larger one. Even more strange.
Surely the Clondalkin public deserve better.
COUNCIL TAKE NOTE: While all this money-wasting is going on, here's one of our own top tips to waste even more cash:
Why not film a Beverly Hills 90210-type soap opera in the area. But never show it on TV. Something like Clondalkin P45 or even better. South Dublin 62.50.
Yeah, this would be a real goer in the money-wasting stakes, while a large number of the genuine public remain on the dole.
These pathetic pieces have at last been removed.
