Doctor turns back time for viewers

JODIE Whittaker's debut Doctor Who series attracted the show's highest average TV audience for nearly a decade, figures show.
About 7.7million viewers watched each of the 10 episodes. It was the programme's largest average audience share across an entire series since 2010, when Matt Smith was in the title role.
Audiences slipped across the series from 10.54million for episode one to 6.24million for episode nine.
However, the series finale saw ratings climb slightly to 6.48million, according to the latest official figures from the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board.
Whittaker will return as the Doctor for a special show on New Year's Day.
