British prime ministers don't do well in Doctor Who. That poor nameless chap who got butchered by the Slitheen, Harriet Jones exterminated by Daleks and now PM Jo Patterson (the steadfastly cool Harriet Walter in Doctor Who: the Revolution of the Daleks) blasted on the steps of Number Ten by a phalanx of sinister drones (New Year's Day BBC1). With great power comes great jeopardy, usually in the guise of some power-crazed alien menace!
