"Dr. Who" returned last Saturday in a new space adventure and with undiminished grip. I often think more inventiveness goes into this unpretentious hunk of hokum than a dozen Sunday night plays of the quality of "The Trouble With England" last Sunday. It manages to maintain a homely fidelity to the rules of the game, but there are occasional slips of craftsmanly competence within the accepted framework of hocus-pocus.
In the where scene Ian climbed into the matchbox we were given no explanation why he shouldn't have climbed out again before the box was lifted by а Brobdingnagian hand. The marvels of science fiction are sometimes overrated.
