Numerous entries for the "Dr. Who and the Daleks" colouring competition came flooding into the "Mercury" office this week from eager youngsters—some as young as four years old — who were hoping to win one of the five shilling prizes.
It seems that this choice of the subject was the most popular to date, and the judges had an even more difficult task to choose the winners than usual. However, the prize in the younger children's class has been awarded to six-year-old Adele Cassin, 7, Leomansley Court, who is a pupil at Christchurch school. St. Michael's schoolgirl Jayne Sanders, aged 7, of 32 St. Michael Road, Lichfield, also wins 5s, and in the older children's class prizes are give to Carol Turner, 7, Park Lane, Shenstone, a nine-year-old Greysbrooke pupil, and eleven-year-old Anne Louise Richardson, 238, Chase Road, Burntwood, a pupil at Chase Terrace school.
