THE new Doctor Who series will not have cliffhanger endings like the originals, reveals scriptwriter Mark Gatiss.
Mark, better known as one of the stars of the cult black comedy League Of Gentlemen, says the new series, due to hit screens next March, will all be self- contained episodes of 45 minutes.
"It is very lean and tight and makes for very exciting TV," he said.
Gatiss said he was sure the new Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston and helped by Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, would be a big hit.
"The aim is to make it a mass audience thing rather than just a cult programme," he said.
