LONDON Dr Who meets EastEnders next month in a BBC special, which brings 3D television to the screen. BBC Children in Need will launch a week-long package of programmes from November 26 to December 3. The event is designed to boost the annual charity appeal.
The highlights of the package are two Dr Who: Dimensions in Time specials, featuring the doctor in five incarnations, including Tom Baker and John Pertwee. They become trapped in the East End of London with some of the EastEnders cast, including Wendy Richard and Gillian Taylforth.
The system used, Nuoptix 3-D V, was developed by Terry Beard. Special glasses can be bought for 99p, of which 25p goes to Children in Need.
