DOCTOR WHO is being exterminated by CORONATION STREET.
The BBC show—telly's longest-running sci-fi drama—will be axed next month.
The Doctor, played by Sylvester McCoy, 46—has plummetted out of TV's Top 100.
The current series of the 28-year-old show—scheduled opposite Coronation Street on Wednesday nights—attracts only three million viewers.
Last night a member of the Dr Who production team said: "Our only hope is for an independent production company to step in and save it.
"It isn't popular any more. Only the Dr Who fans have saved the show from the chop in the past."
