CONTRARY to the somewhat dogmatic views of your TV previewer Geoffrey Phillips, I and many others am highly impressed by Sylvester McCoy's portrayal of the doctor.
As a former co-ordinator of the Dr Who Appreciation Society, I would be described by Mr Phillips as an aficionado and must add that the quality of the actor isn't in question—it's the script and production values.
