Don't bother me at 6.25 pm. I'll be glued to "The Sontaran Experiment" (BBC-1), a complete Dr. Who adventure in one programme.
Personally. I find the Dr Who series the hottest thing since curry, a nicely dotty dabble in the world of fantasy, with that valuable power of shifting thoughts of nine-to-five life firmly to the back of the mind.
Tom Baker is superb as the Doctor, a straggling scare crow of a man with a golliwog flop of hair and eyes charged with eccentricity.
Taking the part of Sarah Jane Smith, Elizabeth Sladen is the perfect foil a character once described by Clive James as "very hockey sticks but with hidden fires."
Actually, tonight's show is a paste-and-scissors job on a series already screened, but well worth a second goggle.
Spelling correction: Elisabeth Sladen
