[edit]

IF you happen to be passing Edinburgh's Playhouse this week and bump into a selection of Daleks, Cybermen and varied time travellers, don't be too surprised.

Because the Dr Who spectacular is up and running, and promises more than just your average dose of thrills and spills.

Colin Baker, the latest Doctor from the TV series, is helped in his adventures by his assistant Jason, played by Graeme Smith, a beautiful young pop star he collects on the way, played by Rebecca Thornhill, and a small furry creature called Zog — sounds like a force to be reckoned with!

There will be stunning special hi-tech and laser effects on stake, as well as computer graphics and flying stunts.

The show will be on until July 8, with performances at 7.30pm and a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
