THE TRIAL of Dr Who will be the greatest nail-biter of all Time.
The new epic fourteen-part story will see the good doctor — actor Colin Baker — placed on trial by the Time Lords. accused of interfering in galactic affairs. He will have to plead his case before the Inquisitor, played by Lynda Bellingham. who will decide his fate.
But Dr Who and trusty companion Peri will not he alone In the dock. The whole series is being put to the test.
Eighteen months ago BBC1 boss Michael Grade shelved the programme after it was slammed for excessive violence and "tired" story lines.
The show won a reprieve and is returning with less violence and more humour but if it is not a big hit it will be axed for good.
