YOUNG Matthew Waterhouse, Dr. Who's new assistant, began his inter-galactic adventures yesterday.
The unknown 18-year-old alien from Haywards Heath was beamed into London for an encounter with Lalla Ward. who plays the doctor's current companion Romana.
Lalla and Matthew will appear together in the B B C-T V series this autumn before the 28-year-old beauty leaves the Tardis for the last time.
Matthew—first boy sidekick for the present doctor, played by Tom Baker—has been working as a BBC clerk.
He said: " I'm very lucky to have landed a part like this. I've been a Dr. Who fan for years."
