I very much enjoyed reading E Jane Dickson's article on the late Elisabeth Sladen (RT, 1 October).
My family has grown up on Doctor Who and at one point I took my kids to an event for fans of the series and sci-fi in general.
At the event, Elisabeth spoke about her days on the programme but when she asked if anyone had questions, the room went quiet. Eventually, I asked about an incident that I had read about. Elisabeth appeared quite relieved, told her story and the session picked up from there.
Half an hour later I was pottering around when I saw Elisabeth and a group of the organisers walking toward me. As she came level with me, she turned toward me and said, "Hi Chaz, are you still enjoying yourself?"
Elisabeth Sladen was genuinely loved by everyone who was blessed to meet her.
