NJN Designs Weekend TV for Devotees

Fans of both TV's "Dr. Who" and singer Harry Chapin will welcome this weekend's wrap-up installment of New Jersey Network's Spring Screening membership drive.

On Saturday night at 9, "Dr. Who" devotees — more familiarly known as "Whovians" — will view "The Androids of Tara," the regularly scheduled episode of the highly popular show.

But after the episode airs, a "bonus" awaits "Dr. Who" buffs, says Ray Nicosia, New Jersey Network's public relations director.

"We're going to be introducing Sylvester McCoy to viewers in a 20-minute interview," Nicosia says.

Starting this fall, McCoy will star as the seventh "Dr. Who."

The show's producer, John Nathan, and Jon Pertwee, the third "Dr. Who," also will be interviewed.

"This really will be a special treat for all 'Whovians'" Nicosia says.

"Anytime a new 'Dr. Who' comes aboard it is really a big occasion for the show's longtime legion of ardent followers."
