DOCTOR WHO • Saturday • BBC1

The Doctor battles with a race of 8ft-tall monsters called Slitheen, in the first of a two-part adventure.

A spaceship crash-lands in London's River Thames and the world is put on red alert. When the British Prime Minister vanishes, the Doctor realises the crash is a cover-up. But who is behind it?

MP Harriet Jones, played by Shaun Of The Dead star Penelope Wilton, has seen aliens in 10 Downing Street. She tries to tell the Doctor what she's seen, but when he arrives at No10 for a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, she has to wait in a side room with his assistant Rose.

There, the pair are confronted by one of the scary creatures. Can the Doctor rescue them in time?
