ROCKY star Sylvester-Stallone is believed to have paid £12,500 for Dr Who's first Tardis yesterday — but experts say it is not the real thing.
The original TV police box, used by William Hartnell in 1983, collapsed in a scene with actress Elizabeth Sladen in 1976, according to fans of the TV series.
Expert Steve Wickham said the one bought by phone at the auction near Gloucester must be from later episodes.
A mystery London celebrity bought the box for £10,000. But then another star — thought to be Stallone — offered £2,500 more. The original buyer backed out.
The Tardis is expected to end up in one of Stallone's Planet Holly wood restaurants.
