[edit]

Sir, Apparently the BBC is making a drama about the origins of Doctor Who to mark the 50th anniversary. I was a member of the studio crew for all of the William Hartnell episodes and for the first series with Patrick Troughton. My abiding memory of Doctor Who is the joy of the crew when Pat Troughton arrived. Unlike Hartnell, he was a delightful man, a joy to work with and he also knew his lines. At the end of each show we used to dump our scripts in the wastepaper basket. Had I kept them I'd probably be worth a fortune by now. Funny old world.
