THAMES Television is to mount its first science fiction children's series in opposition to the BBC's "Dr Who" -with the aid of a 19st space voyaging cyclops.
Thames have signed 19-stone actor Robert Bridges and Francis De Wolff. who weighs 18st. as two "baddies" for the series called "The Tomorrow People."
The 13-part series, which will be screened on the ITV network on Mondays from April 30, marks the acting debut of a 15-year-old coloured boy, Steve Salmon. from Camberwell.
