[edit]

DR WHO star Sylvester McCoy has revealed he may have to sign on the DOLE to make ends meet ... because his BBC pay is so low.

McCoy, 45, said: "The wages are an absolute insult!

"People like Terry Wogan get paid megabucks for a front-man job but real, hardworking actors like me get paid peanuts."

Wogan gets £360,000 a year, but Dr Who stars can get as little as £500 an episode.

Series

McCoy, who lives in Hampstead, North London, said: "In between filming it's hard to make ends meet.

"We finished the last series in August, and there's no way the pay will tide me over until the next series.

"If I don't find more work before March, I'll think seriously about signing on the dole!"

A BBC spokesman said: "The BBC has a policy not to discuss actors wages."
