[edit]

I PROMISE YOU - even if you, like me, are convinced Doctor Who is a kids' show; even if, like me, you remember William Hartnell as the Doctor (jeez, how old am I?

Even if you, like me, haven't watched an episode in years for the reasons listed above, you'll get a tiny shiver on Sunday evening on BBC'. It's when Jodie Whittaker, who falls to Earth after her regeneration, at last realises who she is: "I'm the Doctor! And I sort out fair play throughout the universe!" You Ai might even give a little cheer.

Whittaker is as brilliant as everyone expected her to be - warm, funny, and with two very big hearts. I think Chris Chibnall's reboot will be a winner, although if you have really young kids, be warned, there's a painful life lesson in the first episode. You might have some explaining to do.
