SEXY Girls Aloud were the inspiration for this week's Dr Who ... about giant aliens who can't stop breaking wind.

But fans will be relieved to know that the BBC's slimy monsters were not actually modelled on shapely Nicola Roberts, 19, Cheryl Tweedy, 21, Sarah Harding, 23, Kimberley Walsh, 23, and Nadine Coyle, 19, from the band.

Instead, the show's writer Russell T. Davis, 41, came up with the idea of the plot — where monsters take over the bodies of Government ministers —while watching the girls' video to mega-hit Jump. In the vid the gorgeous lasses are seen breaking into No10 Downing Street and running around the corridors like wildcats.

Hope

In Dr Who next Saturday the farting aliens — called Slitheens — get into Downing Street and try to take over Earth.

Sarah Harding said: "It's flattering that he based this episode on us. But I hope we don't remind him of aliens!"
