[edit]

YOUNG Dr Who fan Thomas Haigh was brave enough to face a Cyberman or a Dalek but not a traffic warden.

The 10-year-old from Ipswich hopped into his hero's time machine yesterday outside a sale of 200 Dr Who costumes, and got a death ray glare from warden Pauline Janet.

Thomas was among 700 fans who packed the showroom of London auctioneers Bonhams. Two Daleks went for £8,000 each-one to an English professor who wanted it for his living room. Cyberman outfits fetched up to £2,600.

The sale raised more than £55,000 for the BBC.
