POLITICIANS often try to pull in some stellar celebrities to boost their campaigns, but one unionist was really reaching for the stars to help his cause. The Conservative and Unionist West Tyrone candidate Ross Hussey seems assured that the Union will be safe well into the future.
He posted on Facebook: "Brilliant to see on Dr Who that in 1,000 years Northern Ireland will be still part of the UK."
The would-be MP had obviously taken a break from the campaign trail to watch some TV, and was delighted to find that the good Doctor was on his side.
The new Time Lord, played by Matt Smith, visited the UK in the next millennium, and Mr Hussey noted: "He referred to the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland - SF eat your heart out..."
