SCI-FI FANS have the chance to mix with some famous movie idols and to see their favourite futuristic TV and film props.
The Lee Valley Leisure Centre in Meridian Way, Edmonton, is playing host to a science fiction and cult TV event on Sunday.
Actor Dave Prowse, Darth Vader in the Star Wars trilogy, and fellow thespian Nicholas Courtney, the Brigadier in Dr Who, will be there to join in the intergalactic high jinks with storm troopers, Daleks and others.
Entrance to the 11am to 4pm event, which will include stall sales of sci-fi props and memorabilia, is £1.20 for adults and 80 pence for children.
Premiere
Organisers are encouraging people to join their £10-a-year Cult Zone club - billed as the official science fiction and cult TV appreciation society.
The club is staging a north London film premiere of the first of the Star Wars trilogy when it is re-released in March.
And members hope to organise an event for Trekkies later in the year - an all-day session at the leisure centre watching all the Star Trek films. Details about the Cult Zone club and the sci-fi day can be obtained from Paul Miley on 0181- 523 1074 or by post at Cult Zone, Nelson House, 341 Lea Bridge Road, London, E10 7LA.
Caption: A Dalek, a Cyberman and a Magarian - all used in episodes of Dr Who.
