A GROUP of Dr Who fans will get to meet their hero TWICE today (Friday).

The West Midlands "Whonatics" have been invited to BBC's Pebble Mill to interview Jon Pertwee and Sylvester McCoy.

The two Doctors will appear on Day Time Live to promote Dr Who's 25th anniversary.

With them will be Sophie Aldred, who plays Ace in the new series.

The group were invited on TV when Whonatics organiser Simon Horton, 20, of Sutton Road, Walsall, received a phone call from a BBC researcher who got his name from the Dr Who Production Office in London.

"I couldn't quite believe we had been asked on the programme," he said.

"This is the biggest thing to happen to the West Midlands group, and we are all really excited about it."
