300 Daleks die as their H.Q. burns

THREE HUNDRED Daleks met their end in a fire yesterday. It also destroyed enough components to make nearly 4,000 more replicas of the space creatures from TV's "Dr. Who."
The blaze was in the factory of Scorpion Automotives Ltd., Northampton, which holds the B.B.C. licence to make Daleks.
Mr. Howard Bond, the arm's managing director. said : "Our entire stock of components for making the original Dalek suits has been destroyed. The works have been put completely out of commission."
Front the B.B.C. TV Centre a spokesman for the new flame-spitting Mechanoid super monsters—who join the "Dr. Who" next month — warned the surviving Daleks : "Beware the Mechanoids will destroy you."
