The BBC's controller of programmes Michael Grade says he will be keeping a very close eye on the ratings for the present series.

As if that were not enough the man for whom opponents like The Daleks and Cybermen arc just part of a day's work has now come under flak from within The Tardis itself.

'Dr Who' script editor Eric Saward, is reported to have quit over disagreements about the way the show was being. But despite the difficulties, Mr Nathan-Turner, a former pupil of King Edward's Aston remains optimistic

"No decision has yet been made. But I think the present series has gone very well and there will be another."

Meanwhile, Mr Nathan-Turners latest book on "Dr Who' is due to be published next month.

"Dr Who -- The Companions" from Piccadilly Press, covers everyone who has shared the famous phone box over the last 23 years and is dedicated to Mr Nathan-Turner's parents, Kath and Sam who live in Erdington, Birmingham.
