THE TOTS (and others) will meet a space-age combination of Cathy Gale and Emma Peel tonight ... Sara Kingdom, space security agent.

Miss Kingdom joins up with Dr. Who in the children's science fiction series on BBC TV.

Their job : To outwit the [[broadwcast:The Daleks' Master Plan|Daleks]] [of course].

Auntie BBC's publicity, which seems to have caught up with the spirit of the times in today's nurseries, describes her as tough, ruthless, efficient, beautiful, intelligent, knowledgeable about technology and a space-ship pilot.

Auntie herself, not to be outdone in these matters, has awarded Miss Kingdom a woollen cat-suit, black leather boots, expertise in judo and karate and a ray gun for when that suits the scriptwriters better.

Miss Jean Marsh, 26, who plays Miss Kingdom, admitted yesterday that her real-life hobby is riding horses.

But, she added gallantly : " I'm learning a bit about judo and karate so I don't look too inefficient."

FOR DADS (and others) : The vital information is 35-21-34. But Miss Kingdom does not come on the scene until the year 4000.
