INTO the Strand lumbers the familiar shape of a Dalek. And alongside it is the newest Dr Who.

He is classical actor Trevor Martin and he is to invade the West End as Dr Who in a new adventure on the London stage complete with Daleks, writes Michael Owen.

Dr Who will make his stage debut at the Adelphi Theatre on December 16 in a science-fiction story called Seven Keys To Doomsday.

After a six-month search the producers today named Trevor as the man to take over from Jon Pertwee as Dr Who.

Budgeted at £35,000, the show will play twice daily for a four - week season and producers Robert De Wynter and Anthony Pye-Jeary promise a spectacular affair.
