Sports programmes were disrupted yesterday on B.B.C. television through a strike by members of the National Association of Theatrical, Television and Cine Employees. Millions of viewers who had hoped to see the Roses cricket match between Lancashire and Yorkshire at Old Trafford, racing from Chepstow, and athletics from Crystal Palace, were instead shown [[broadwcast: BBC Repeats|repeats]] of [[broadwcast:The Sea Devils|Dr. Who and the Sea Devils]], sporting superstars and a feature film.

Although outside broadcasts were the main victims of the industrial action, pre-recordings were also hit. The strikers are demanding a rise of £1.50 a week and the B.B.C. has offered them 67p. New moves to try to settle the dispute are expected today.--(P.A.)
