The first "Dr. Who" festival in Wisconsin will be held March 22 from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Dane County Coliseum. It is sponsored by the Dr. Who Fan Club of America and presented by WHA-TV, the Madison public television station.

"Dr. Who" is a British science-fiction television series that has run for more than 20 years, with six actors who have played the title role over the years.

It is seen here over WPNE-TV, Channel 38.

Special guests at the festival will be Katy Manning and Terrance Dicks. Manning played Jo Grant, the doctor's companion, in 77 episodes from 1971 to 1973. Dicks, head of the BBC drama serials, was script editor for "Dr. Who" for many years and has written more than half of the approximately 120 novelizations of the scripts.

In addition, Videos will be shown, and there will be a costume contest.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $9 at the door. They can be ordered by VISA or Master Card by calling 608-257-4400. They also can be ordered by sending a money order or cashier's check payable to Ticket Center for the amount of the tickets plus a 50-cent-per-order service charge, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Ticket Center, Dr. Who Festival, P.O. Box 9466, Dane County Coliseum, Madison, WI 53715.

This was the last episode featuring Peter Davison as the doctor. It will be followed by "Genesis of the Daleks," third in the poll, and that by "The Five Doctors," second in the poll, a program featuring the first five actors to play the role. On March 24, "Spearhead from Space" will begin at noon, followed by "Invasion of Time," which was the No. 1 favorite of the viewers.
