[edit]

They're getting their Tardises warmed up for the Aug. 15-17 Doctor Who Time Fest at the Sheraton Spokane Hotel.

Fans of "Doctor Who," a long-running science fiction TV series carried locally by KSPS-TV, will be gathering for a three-day convention and masquerade ball at the hotel.

The event is hosted by the Inland Empire Doctor Who Appreciation Society, which has more than 300 members.

Appearing during the convention will be Jon Pertwee, who played the third Doctor, and a number of other actors who appeared during the show's 22-year history.

Tickets for the three days are $37.50 ($45 after Aug. 1). Also planned during the convention is an awards banquet to recognize winners in an assortment of contests and events.

The Tardis, by the way, is the Doctor's vehicle, which curiously resembles a British police call box.

For further information on the event, contact Jamie Decker, president of the IEDWAS. The address of the group: P.O. Box 9457, Spokane 99209.
