A PETITION signed by more than 500 people — many of them children — who asked "Dr Who" (actor Norman Hartnell) to crown Brasted's carnival queen on August Bank Holiday (August 29) has failed because Mr. and Mrs. Hartnell will he on holiday then.<br />

The petition was organised and sent to Mr. Hartnell by Mr. Ted Comer, chairman of Brasted carnival. Replying to it on behalf of her husband, Mrs. Heather Hartnell says: " ...
