DR. WHO is dead ... long live Dr. Who. Jon Pertwee today starts his 24th and last series as the eternal doctor (BBC-1 5.45). This time the manages to avoid the dreaded Daleks but comes up against monster spiders.
At the end of the six-part series he's comes to what would, for humans, be a nasty end. But not to worry. The doctor is a Time Lord and can be resuscitated. And when the next Dr. Who series begins early next year he reappears in the shape of Tom Baker.
