THE scriptwriter Terry Nation, creator of the Daleks in the Dr Who TV series, has died aged 66, the BBC said last night. Mr Nation, who had berm suffering from emphysema for a number of years, died at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday, a spokesman said. Mr Nation found the name for his creation on the spine of an encyclopaedia - "DAL-EK". Mr Nation was born in Cardiff and worked in London as a comedian - "people said the material was funny but I wasn't" - before turning to scriptwriting.
