Q. Everyone in my household has become a devoted "Dr. Who!" fan. How can we join his fan club, and where can we get the Whovian Newsletter? Four Whovians are eagerly awaiting your answer. — L.S., Ridge. I have some questions on Tom Baker, the actor who plays Dr. Who. Is he married? What is he doing now? Membership to the club includes delivery of the Whovian Newsletter. a Dr. Who membership card and button, as well as the opportunity to buy other Dr. Who items. The syndicated British-produced show airs on Channel 21 (WLIW) weekdays at 7 p.m., and is the longest running science-fiction series on television. Tom Baker starred in the title role from 1974 to 1981. A native of Liverpool, England, Baker was born January 20, 1934. and was living in a monastery until he decided that he wanted to become an actor. He became involved in the English theater, and was tutored by Sir Laurence Olivier, who became impressed with Baker after seeing him in a performance of "Macbeth." The 6-foot-4-inch-tall actor weighs 200 pounds. has brown hair and blue eyes. Baker is married to, but separated from, actress Lalla Ward, who played the part of Romana in the Dr. Who series. Since his departure from the series, Baker has guest starred on NBC's "Remington Steele and is said to be presently "looking for work" in Hollywood.
