[edit]

I've watched Doctor Who from its first episode with William Hartnell, but had begun to tire of important-sounding dialogue meaning nothing and obtuse plots whose endings left me none the wiser. But this series (Saturday BBC1) has to be one of my all-time favourites.

I have so enjoyed the wonderful trio of Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie and Matt Lucas. The dialogue has been magnificent: "Human progress isn't measured by industry, it's measured by the value you place on life." What wonderful ideals! And the plotlines themselves have been political; what price commercialism, for example. Thank you to all concerned. I shall be sorry to see my favourite Doctor go.
