It's business as usual for No 6

THE sixth Dr Who moves into the good ship Tardis on ABC-TV tonight.

The latest version of the space-shuttling adventurer is played by English actor Colin Baker, who according to some London reports is "the sexiest Time Lord ever."

Baker, green-eyed and fair-haired, has been described as a cross between Errol Flynn and Einstein.

He also has a stunningl new assistant, Peri, played by Nicola Bryant.

But as with all Dr Whos, the beefy Baker and his assistant are destined to remain just good friends.

Producer John Nathan-Turner, who visited Australia earlier this year, insists: "There'll be no hanky-panky."

In Australia, ABC-TV screens Dr Who at 6.30, a children's time-slot

But according to Nathan-Turner, research by the BBC indicates that less than 40 per cent of the series' world-wide audience is under 16.

Nathan-Turner says he would love to bring the Dr Who cast and crew to Australia to make a series of episodes and is already considering a number of story-lines.

He also revealed he has scrapped plans to update the Tardis, the Doctor's time machine, because it looks like an old-fashioned British police box.

"But when the news broke that the police box might be updated all hell broke loose. The complaints are still pouring in."

He said viewers also complained when The Master, the arch-villain who has brought strife to previous Doctors, was burnt to a crisp last year.

"Generally, the public likes to see good triumph over evil but sometimes they seem to like it the other way round," he said.
