They were lining up to hear their future and past at St. Anselms Church Hall, Belmont, on Saturday.

"They" were some of the hundreds of people who visited the summer fair organised by the Harrow Pre - School Playgroups Association.

But despite this diversion for the adults there was plenty for the children. A Dalek from the "Dr. Who" serial opened the fair and the voice of Neil Shearer warned the children what would happen if they mobbed the Dalek on the stage. "You will be exterminated" said 11-year-old Neil in Dalek monotone as be worked the controls inside.

Balloons

Balloons are always favourite with children and to have their names painted on them as well proved irresistible. The stall was empty within 20 minutes of the opening.

Among the many winners during the afternoon, Mr. B. Knight of Kingshill Avenue, Stanmore, received three gallons of petrol for guessing the correct number of balloons in a car, and Tracey Thornbury, of Kenmore Avenue. Kenton, walked off with a large jar of after guessing how many it contained.

Ten Playgroups took part in the fair and each will receive £10 of equipment as the result of the event. The remaining profit will he put to the association funds.
