DALEKS, the mechanical monsters "killed off" in a TV children's serial are coming hark — by popular request.
These robots — see picture above - were supposed to be frightening. But the young viewers loved them.
When the BBC "liquidated" the Daleks early in the serial — Dr. Who — hundreds of children wrote in to protest.
Some of the letters accused the BBC of cruelty. So now the Daleks are to be resurrected.
Verity Lambert, producer of the programme, said last night: "It won't be until the autumn. New scripts have to be written to explain the come back."
