[edit]

TIME-traveller Dr Who is facing his biggest enemy ever — the cost-cutting head of BBC TV.

BBC boss Michael Grade wants to take the doctor and his Tardis off the screen to save money. And fans of the series are up in arms.

Yesterday some editions of the Mirror showed eight-year-old Gareth Jenkins, who appeared with Dr Who In a mini-episode on the Jim Fix It programme, getting ready to defend his hero with a Sontaran Meson Gun and a petition amongst his school chums.
