AFTER decades of collecting Doctor Who memorabilia, Alan Christison could do with a Tardis that has more room inside than out.

As it is, cramming all the toys, masks, costumes and books into his modest family home in Arbroath, Angus, is a bit of a tight squeeze.

The 34-year-old Dundee FC shop manager has spent thousands of pounds on his collection and has been a Doctor Who fan since he first started watching TV.

'Tom Baker was my first Doctor but my favourite actor in the role has to be Colin Baker,' said Alan, who has two sons, Jake, 11, and four-year-old Tom, with his wife Hazel.

'I even sent an invitation to Sylvester McCoy, who was playing the Doctor at the time, to come to our wedding, but he wrote back to say he was otherwise engaged. I have to admit sometimes that my interest in Doctor Who has become an obsession.' Alan, whose prized possession is a full-size Dalek called Dusty, won a recent Children in Need competition to see Doctor Who being made in Cardiff.

'It was a dream come true,' he said. 'I even saw something top secret that I can't speak about because it's not been on screen yet.'
