SPACE City - the futuristic £50m town centre development in Hammersmith — is all set to leave the launching pad.

But two scientific superminds hope London Transport's scheme will never get off the ground.

Television Time Lord Dr. Who and candidate for North Hammersmith, professor, Dr. Magnus Pyke, have office joined forces with the opponents of the development - which includes a bus station, garage and 600,000 square feet of office space.

Actor Tom Baker, alias Dr. Who, joined a picket line outside Hammersmith Town Hall last month protesting the scheme
