Teens at the Niles Public Library, wrote, directed, produced and staged their own play Saturday for a large crowd as part of the library's continuing Project Playbill series.

The play, "Much Ado About The Doctor" was a comedy directors said combining the time-traveling BBC science fiction character Doctor Who, William Shakespeare and elements of the 1946 Frank Capra film, "It's A Wonderful Life."

At the start of Saturday's comedy, audience members were warned not to look for much of a plot.

The story took a depressed Shakespeare through his life from childhood, to meeting his future wife to his deathbed and into a future 2014 classroom to inspire him to write plays again.

The play was written by the cast and directed by recent Maine South High School graduate Rohini Venkat and Maine South senior Vicki Tanquary.
