THE adventures of Dr Who took a new twist when he whizzed through line into the high-tech world of today's Royal Mail.

Sylvester McCoy who plays Dr. Who in the BBC-TV series stepped from the Tardis into the Royal Mail's space-age exhibition at London's Science Museum to see the latest Post Office technology being harnessed to speed the nation's mail.

He was impressed by a computer system which enables minors to find the postcode of any of Britain's 23.5m addresses. And pictured with his are a friendly postman and a young assistant who already appreciate the value of using the postcode.

Dr Who said: "Seldom on my travels have I come stems sank an intriguing display of modern technology. I heartily recommend a visit to the Royal Mail Code Show for all my young time-travelling friends."

And with such an endorsement there's still time to see and enjoy the exhibition — it runs until January 17.
