DOCTOR WHO has travelled through so much time in real terms that we are about to witness celebrations of his having survived a quarter of a century

Things have developed, though, since the original time lord played by William Hartnell; so much so that he now has his own type of club to invite guests to such events.

The big thrill about the Doctor was the fantasy which only several years before his launch on BBC Television has become reality when Yuri Gagarin went into orbit.

But it is somewhat telling when you are invited to a space flight centre in London to celebrate his anniversary. Is the Doctor up to date enough we wonder? The BBC celebrated his 25 year at a new venue in London this week.

Now kids can visit the 3001 Space Adventure venue at London Bridge. The truth is, it hardly matters whether he's friendly enough because some things never change, except who gets paid for being Doctor Who.
