LONGLEAT, the stately home in Wiltshire, will be invaded next spring by four Dr Whos and thousands of their fans. The occasion will be the "biggest-ever" Dr Who convention, celebrating the 20th anniversary at the BBC TV programme.

All four surviving Dr Whos — Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and Peter Davison — are to be there; and the organisers are sure to find a way to honour the memory of the late William Hartnell.

Dr Who is the longest-running TV science fiction series in the world and is seen in 39 countries including the United States. Ten thousand fans recently attended the annual North American Dr Who Appreciation Society convention in Chicago.
